Tennent Caledonian Breweries this month introduces a new product to its brand family – reduced alcohol lager, T2. T2 has an ABV of 2% and will be available in draught and pint serve in the on-trade in Scotland.
T2 is described by Tennent’s as a light, refreshing option, which provides the great taste you’d expect of Scotland’s favourite pint but with 50% lower alcohol strength than Tennent’s Lager. Brewed to the same meticulous high standards as Tennent’s Lager, T2 is available for the on-trade in Scotland to buy in 50L kegs.
T2 is the latest addition to the ‘T family’, following the launch of Black T, Lemon T and Hee Haw! in 2014. A natural progression for the business, T2 provides an extra choice for consumers who are looking for a lower ABV product or who are keen to moderate their alcohol intake. The brewery is also pleased to be responding to increased demand from the on-trade for lower ABV options.
Paul Condron, Marketing Director for TCB said: “We’ve been expanding our product line over the past year and are delighted to add T2 to the mix, which complements our core Tennent’s Lager, Lemon T, Black T and Hee Haw! product range.
“Feedback from most of the on-trade is that they are seeking extra choice in this area, so we know that T2 on draught will be a welcome addition to the range of reduced ABV products currently on offer. Research has shown that consumers are largely open to trying reduced alcohol drinks, with many looking to moderate their drinking in line with their busy lifestyles or to manage their alcohol intake in a responsible way, so we are confident that T2 will help meet this demand. Upfront and honest, T2 is quite simply a great tasting, reduced alcohol option from Tennent’s.”
From this morning, the sales team at Tennent Caledonian Breweries will actively encourage pubs to trial the product.
